You shouldn't need a $100/year subscription to open a spreadsheet

XLSX is the standard file format for spreadsheets, but Microsoft charges $99.99/year for Microsoft 365 just to use Excel. Google Sheets is free but struggles with large files, strips formatting, and requires uploading your data to Google's servers.

Viztab opens XLSX files directly in your browser with full formula support, formatting preservation, and no file size restrictions. Your data never leaves your machine.

Full XLSX compatibility, zero compromises

Works everywhere Excel doesn't

Viztab runs in any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Whether you're on a Chromebook, a shared office computer without Excel installed, or a Linux workstation, you can open XLSX files in seconds. There's also a free desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

No Microsoft account. No Google account. No signup at all. Just drag your file in and start working.

Frequently asked questions

Does Viztab support all Excel formulas?

Viztab supports over 370 formulas, covering virtually all commonly used Excel functions including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, INDEX/MATCH, COUNTIFS, IF/AND/OR, text functions, date functions, and more. Macros (VBA) are not supported, as they are a security risk and specific to Excel.

Can I edit the XLSX file and save it back?

Yes. You can edit cells, add formulas, insert rows and columns, and then export the file back as XLSX. You can also save as CSV if that's what you need.

How is this different from Google Sheets?

Google Sheets requires you to upload your file to Google's servers and create a Google account. Viztab runs entirely in your browser — your data never leaves your computer. It also handles much larger files: Google Sheets caps at 10 million cells, while Viztab can handle files with tens of millions of rows.

Is it really free?

Opening and viewing XLSX files up to 1,000 rows is completely free with no signup. Viztab Pro removes the row limit for users who need to work with larger datasets.
